“Prose should have a flow, the forward momentum of a certain energized weight; it should feel like a voice tumbling in your ear.”
- John Updike
My love of writing and editing goes back to when I was a teenager, corresponding directly with my passion for reading. At my college newspaper, I was sports editor and then editor-in-chief. I knew then that writing would be a big part of my career. Following graduation, I was a newspaper reporter for several years in upstate New York and Vermont - earning an award from the New England Press Association.
Most of my professional writing is not available to be shared, but below are a few, along with some blog articles I’ve written for fun. It’s worth noting that many of these are written in my own voice or for a newspaper. When writing for a brand, or targeting different audiences, my approach is often quite different.
Curious what I can do? Give me an assignment.
